Chicago Design

This weekend I traveled to Chicago for a wedding. I received a GREAT recommendation from Gina Donahue of Kohler Hospitality Group to check out the restaurant ZED451. I thought I would share some photos, because the design of this restaurant was amazing. They incorporate a lot of wood, with subtle accents of stone. There is a lot of twinkle from the multiple fireplaces. The lighting is very dim making the space feel very warm and cozy. If you are ever in Chicago you should stop by, and if you are in the mood, the cucumber mint martini is AMAZING!! http://www.zed451.com/
Here at the left is the center of the restaurant. They have bar height dining that spokes out from a central fireplace. While no one was dining at it when I was there, it was a very cool feature. On the right is the area at the stairs leading to the second floor. There is a paver path with loose stones, and a 2 story fire place. This area has the feeling almost that you are outside.
Another cool place to check out is the new DoubleTree Hotel the Wit. It is extremely modern and has the coolest restaurant on the top floor. Here are some photos...
These are pictures of the lobby. I liked the angel wing chandeliers.
These are of the rooftop restaurant, which was packed! All the tables have fireplaces in the center for the cold Chicago nights.
