Dean S. Newins, AIA, formally a principal at Opus Architects & Engineers, has started a new architectural and design/build firm. The Newins Group has offices in Maryland and New York.
PSA-Dewberry announced several promotions in its Fairfax office: James Beight, AIA, PSA-Dewberry’s director of design and director of courthouse design, has been promoted to senior principal. Beight leads PSA-Dewberry’s court planning and design projects nationwide and takes an active design and oversight role on all projects within the mid-Atlantic region.
Mark Scott, the office director for PSA-Dewberry’s Fairfax office, has been promoted to associate principal. With close to 30 years of experience, Scott has been responsible for coordination and design development for a variety of public safety, higher education, commercial and industrial projects.
Mark Kuczynski, a senior construction administrator in PSA-Dewberry’s Fairfax office, has been promoted to associate.
Hospitality
Richard “Rich” Lucas has been named executive vice president and general counsel, and head of the entire legal department of Hilton Hotels Corp. in McLean.
