SHW Group hired two new staff members at its D.C. studio. Doug Gehley, AIA, LEED AP, has been hired as vice president and new studio leader. With more than 30 years management experience in the architecture/construction industry, he will serve as the studio’s leader of sustainable design and will also manage the firm’s educational architecture projects. He most recently provided project management of two new high schools in Loudoun County. Burt Jackson, CDT, has also been hired as project manager. With more than 25 years experience in architecture and construction management, Burt is currently working on the Loudoun County Public School Project focusing on construction contract administration and client relations efforts.
Reston-based Perkowitz & Ruth Architects has promoted Joseph Serruya to associate principal. Serruya is the firm’s current Eastern region director and guides an office of 24 professionals. Serruya’s promotion was one of seven promotions. The promotions included the naming of three new firm principals, three associate principals and one senior associate. Serruya is responsible for senior project oversight and business development for the region. He possesses more than 20 years of experience in planning, design, construction documentation, construction contract administration and project management, and has successfully provided architectural services to a range of clients on numerous building and project types.
