HOST HOTELS & RESORTS HIRES FORMER MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE
Bethesda-based Host Hotels & Resorts has hired Timothy Marvin, who used to work for Marriott International, as its senior vice president of acquisitions. Marvin will be in charge or deals in North America, Brazil and Latin America.

Host Hotels & Resorts Inc. today announces the appointment of Timothy Marvin as senior vice president, acquisitions. Marvin will focus on identifying Host's real estate investments in North America, Brazil and Latin America. He is based at Host's headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, and reports to Jim Risoleo, executive vice president and chief investment officer.
Marvin brings more than 27 years of hotel and real estate development experience to Host. Most recently, he was senior vice president, lodging development at Marriott International, Inc. where he was responsible for developing the company's full-service brand portfolio in 24 states within the east, central, south-central and southeast portions of the United States. Marvin also promoted the launch of the Autograph Collection, Marriott's collection of independent boutique hotels. During his 23-year tenure at Marriott, he has supervised or directed numerous management and franchise contract negotiations and development projects as well as conducted feasibility studies.

Additionally, Marvin currently serves on the scholarship committee for the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation and as advisory board member of Michigan State University in The School of Hospitality Business. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Michigan State University in hotel, restaurant and institutional management.
