This tour will focus on German and German-American architects and visual artists who lived in and/or designed buildings in or created other works of art the Old Downtown neighborhood.
The tour will include buildings designed by Julius Germuiller, Mies van der Rohe and Adolf Cluss, sculptures by Adolph Weinman, and paintings or frescos by Max Weyl and Joseph and Carl Rakeman. Where the original works cannot be seen, photographic reproductions will be shown.
Led by Alice Stewart, a local historian and licensed guide, this tour will end near another Metro stop in the area.
