Sustainability Forum: USGBC Headquarters
Thursday, October 1
Please join us for a presentation by Ken Wilson, principal of Envision Design, on the design of the new U.S. Green Building Council's Headquarters.
Completed in May of 2009, the new U.S. Green Building Council Headquarters is the first project to be certified under the new LEED-CI Version 3.0 rating system. The project received platinum level certification, achieving a total of 94 points (80 points are required for platinum certification). Of particular note was the project's goal to reduce energy use by 50 percent. This presentation will provide a review of the new Version 3.0 rating system and will review the multiple green strategies employed in the design of the space. A guided tour of the space will follow the presentation. Light refreshments and food will be served.
